Why Is My Upload Speed So Slow?
Cable and some DSL plans give far more download than upload. If upload is a small fraction of download on Ethernet, that is often the product, not a broken test.
Asymmetric plans
A 300/15 Mbps cable plan can stream 4K while struggling with several HD cameras. Fiber is more often symmetric.
What upload is used for
Meetings, live streams, cloud photo backup, and sending large files all compete for the smaller direction.
When to suspect a fault
If Ethernet upload is far below the contracted rate at several times of day, collect tests and talk to the ISP. Do not use Wi‑Fi-only evidence.
