SpeedTestLab network tool
Download Speed Test
This test downloads uncached bytes from the SpeedTestLab node and times the transfer in your browser.

Tests send generated traffic to Cloudflare’s speed-test network and use your data allowance. Cloudflare processes your IP address and technical request data under its privacy policy. How this test measures your connection
Ping here is HTTP round-trip time after one warmup sample, not ICMP. Speeds use decimal Mbps from bytes and elapsed time.
What does this tool measure?
This download speed test times real, uncached HTTP response bytes from the SpeedTestLab node. The browser calculates decimal megabits per second from bytes received and elapsed time.
How do I use it?
- Pause downloads and streaming that share the connection.
- Start the test and keep this tab active.
- Run two or three tests instead of relying on one short sample.
- Compare the same device and node at different times.
How should I read the result?
Higher Mbps means this browser received more data per second from this node. Streaming and large downloads depend on sustained speed, while web browsing can also be limited by latency and server response time.
What are the technical limits?
A short browser transfer is not a guarantee of ISP plan speed or performance to every service. Device, Wi-Fi, congestion, route, and node capacity can affect the result.
Frequently asked questions
Why does download speed change between tests?
Short-term congestion, Wi-Fi conditions, background activity, routing, and device load all vary. Compare several runs under similar conditions.
Does a high download result guarantee 4K streaming?
No. It provides useful capacity, but the streaming service, sustained stability, Wi-Fi, device, and concurrent traffic also matter.
